Massimo regularly works with international magazines like TIME, The New Yorker, NewsWeek and Espresso. Massimo’s documentary photographical interests are primarily focused on social and geopolitical dynamics connected with the war on terror scenario. He is mostly known for his long term project on Pakistan, approaching the subject of social change.


It is this project that, with the support of the Carmignac Foundation, became his first monographic book: Lashkars. (Ed Actes Sud). Berruti’s work has won numerous grants and prizes among the most prestigious in the world. His images are part of the Carmignac Foundation and the MAXXI Museum in Rome, and a member of the CIP. His essays have been exhibited at the Nobel Peace Centre as well as in some of the international festivals like Rencontres d’Arles and Visa pour L’Image.
