Abvent Group
Joan Fontcuberta (born 24 February 1955 in Barcelona) is a contemporary Spanish visual artist of Catalan origin.
His work has been exhibited at MoMA in New York1 and the Centre national d'art et de culture Georges-Pompidou in Paris2. He has won several awards in photography, including the National Photography Prize (1998), and was made a Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres in 1994 for his photographic work; but also in literature, with the National Essay Prize in 2011 for an essay on photography.
