The rich diversity of Françoise Huguier's work can perhaps be explained by her refusal to choose between the different facets of the photographic medium. She is interested in fashion - we know her long complicity with the couturier Christian Lacroix - but treats it in an offbeat way; she travels in depth through Africa and decides to make the great photographers known; the photoreportage, which she practices through a long collaboration with Libération, requires it as much as a form of anthropological investigation in which she excels.
