"In thinking about this book I think of how I have moved around, changed ways of working and later gone back to old ways of making pictures. But I am not the same person as years ago. With Portraits & Figures I do think of how one picture will bounce off of other pictures, the sequencing is very important... and in making pictures I almost never think of how or what I am photographing relates to other aspects of my work."
