At the end of the 1990s, David Sauveur, a photojournalist accustomed to the chaos of history, immerses himself in the many layers of Jerusalem. Using the Polaroid, he goes on to create a series of subtle photographs, slow and delicate, driven by a rare understanding of the plurality and contradictions of the city of three religions. This book, accompanied by a text by historian Vincent Lemire, presents for the first time the work of David Sauveur, whose career was cut short in August 2011 by a violent attack.
