In 1959, he settled in Vigo, where he passed away on October 29, 2009. He studied at the Escuela de Altos Estudios Mercantiles de la Ciudad Condal (Barcelona). He began his artistic career as a painter and caricaturist, only turning to photography in 1955 when he came into contact with members of the Agrupación Fotográfica de Cataluña. Alongside Ramon Masats and Xavier Miserachs, he held his first photography exhibition in 1957. In 1958, he joined the Afal group (Agrupación Fotográfica de Almería), became a member of its board of directors, and took part in all its activities. In the late 1960s, he abandoned photography, only to return to it in 1982, participating in numerous solo and group exhibitions, both nationally and internationally. He is considered one of the most remarkable photographers of his generation. His work, marked by strong thematic and formal consistency, carries a subjective character that makes it instantly recognizable, despite the diversity of the series he produced. In 2008, he received the Bartolomé Ros Award for lifetime achievement in photography, presented by the PhotoEspaña photography festival.
