Zannettacci Cyril

French photographer, born in 1973, Cyril Zannettacci is based in Paris.

After studying at the school of the French Society of Photography, Cyril Zannettacci began as an assistant: he acquired solid experience in studio techniques and collaborated with world-renowned photographers. After ten years of working for prestigious international magazines, he developed his own photographic style which questions the contemporary world and its changes: the traces of its history, the persistence of its memory, the relationship of the individual to society and his environment, both in his actions and in his representations.

In 2011, he fulfills a young photographer’s dream and carries out his first commission for the daily newspaper Libération, with whom he will collaborate on a regular basis from 2015. With a sensitive eye for political, social or cultural news, without being locked into a single stylistic repertoire, he develops an intense activity of commissioned portraits and reports for the French press (Télérama, L’Obs, Society, etc.) as well as the international press (New-York Times, Washington Post, Vanity Fair, CNN, The Guardian, Der Spiegel, Stern, etc.)..

The deep attention he pays to the reality of situations in the field, his great ability to adapt and the sensitivity of his author’s eye also allow him to put his photographic work at the service of institutions and NGOs, including Medecins du Monde in 2017, for whom he documents the psychological suffering of the Palestinian people in the occupied territories, or more recently, in 2021, Action Against Hunger, which he accompanies to Kenya in order to bear witness to the consequences of climate disruption on an environment where conditions are already extreme.

Regularly published in the press, his work has been exhibited on the Place de l’Hotel de Ville in Paris during the first PhotoClimat Biennial and screened at festivals and cultural events (Printemps photographique de Pomerol, Nuit Blanche, etc.). Winner of the 2022 Caritas Photo Sociale Prize, his work will be exhibited at the Chateau d’Eau in Toulouse at the end of 2022 and will give rise to the publication of his first monograph by Filigranes.
