Des oiseaux – Mario Giacomelli

Mario Giacomelli photographed birds in much the same way he photographed landscapes, allowing ample space for movement and the unexpected. In this black-and-white series, birds sometimes appear as tiny forms lost in space, and at other times as a flock sweeping across the frame. The result is a collection of highly expressive, almost abstract photographs, in which we look as much at the composition as at the birds themselves.
